Ingredients:
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. cream of tartar mixed in with
3 c. flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts (your choice)

Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs. Add dry ingredients and milk. Fold in nuts. Bake in greased and floured 9x 13 " pan until done.
