Beef-Onion Loaf
Ingredients:
2 lbs. ground beef
1 egg
1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
4 lg. onions, sliced thin
4 Tbs. butter
1 Tbs. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. cracked pepper
2 lbs. ground beef

1/4 tsp. cracked pepper
Directions:
Mix ground beef lightly with egg, bread crumbs, milk and salt until well-blended. Saute onions until soft in butter; stir in brown sugar. Put half the meat mixture into a loaf pan, 9x5x3; top with the onion mixture, then remaining meat mixture. Unmold into a shallow baking pan; sprinkle loaf with pepper. Bake at 350 for 1 hour, or until richly browned.
