Corn Bread
Ingredients:
1 egg
1 c. milk
1/4 c. melted shortening
2/3 c. flour
3/4 c. cornmeal
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbs. sugar

Directions:
Beat egg until light. Add milk and shortening. Mix. Sift together into above mixture all dry ingredients. Stir quickly and vigorously until mixture is blended and has lumpy appearance. Turn into greased 8x8x2 pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Cut in squares and serve hot.
