Upside-Down Apple Pie
Ingredients:
Butter
1 c. brown sugarm
1/2 c. pecan halves
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
4 to 6 tsp. cold water
Sliced apples
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg

1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
Directions:
Melt 3 Tbs. butter; blend in brown sugar. Spread in a 9" pie plate; press in pecans. Combine flour and salt; cut in shortening. Stir in enough water to form dough; divide into 2 parts. Roll one part. Fit crust in plate over pecans and fill with apples. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg mix; dot with butter. Fit top crust over pie and seal edges well but do not prick top. Bake at 375 until apples are tender. Turn out upside down onto plate.
