Cherry Pecan Bread
Ingredients:
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. chopped pecans
1 10 oz. jar maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
In large mixer bowl, cream together sugar, butter and eggs till light and fluffy. Sift together flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture with the buttermilk. Beat till blended. Stir in nuts, cherries and vanilla. Pour batter into greased 9x5x3" loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 55 to 60 minutes. Remove from pan; cool. Glaze with 10x sugar icing, if desired.
