Dinner Beef Patties
Ingredients:
1 lg. Bermuda onion
2 Tbs. butter
1/4 c. water
3 Tbs. brown sugar
Paprika
2 lbs. ground beef
2 tsp. salt
Chili glaze (recipe follows)

Directions:
Peel onion and cut crosswise into 4 thick slices. Saute in butter until lightly browned on bottom; turn carefully; add water and brown sugar; cover. Simmer 10 minutes,or just till tender; sprinkle with paprika. Keep hot while fixing and cooking meat. Mix ground beef lightly with salt; shape into 4 large and 4 medium-size patties about 1" thick. Pan fry over medium heat 8 minutes; turn; cook 5 minutes longer. Spoon chili glaze over; continue cooking, basting with glaze in pan, 3 minutes longer for medium, or until meat is done as you like it. Put one large and medium-size patty together with a Bermuda onion slice between them on a serving plate. Top with any remaining sauce from pan.
Chili Glaze- Combine 1/2 c. chili sauce with 1/2 c. water. 1 Tbs. corn syrup, and 1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce in a 2 c. measure. Makes about 1 c.
