French-Fried Onions
Ingredients:
2/3 c. milk
1 egg
3 lg mild sweet onions,sliced 1/4" thick and separated into rings
1 c. flour
Fat for deep frying

Directions:
In bowl combine egg and milk; beat well. Pour into shallow pan. Drop a few onion rings into pan. With fingers, turn rings till each is well coated. Lift out; drain off excess mixture. Then, drop into pan of flour, a few at a time; turn to coat well. Shake to remove excess flour. Fill French-frying basket only 1/4 full of onion rings. Set basket into deep hot fat (375). Stir once with a fork to separate. When onion rings are golden brown, remove from fat and drain on paper towels.
