Fried Green Tomatoes
Ingredients:
2 lbs. green tomatoes, cut into 1/4" thick slices
1 1/2 c. cornmeal
Vegetable oil
Salt and pepper to taste
2 lbs. green tomatoes, cut into 1/4" thick slices

Directions:
Dredge tomato slices in cornmeal. Pour oil to depth of 1/4" into a large heavy skillet. Fry tomato slices, a few at a time, in hot oil over med. heat 2 minutes each side or until lightly browned. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
Makes 4-6 Servings
