Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup shortening (or 3/4 cup butter)
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups (12 oz. pkg.) Hershey’s baking chips or milk chocolate
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups (12 oz. pkg.) Hershey’s baking chips or milk chocolate
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Directions:
Cream shortening, brown sugar, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture.
Stir in chocolate chips and pecans. Drop by tsp. onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes (light brown) or until done.
