Crispy Fried Chicken
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. flour
1 Tbs. garlic salt
1 1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
2/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
3/4 c. water
1 egg yolk, lightly beaten
1 (2 1/2-3lb.) fryer,cut up
vegetable oil or shortening
1 1/2 c. flour
1 Tbs. garlic salt
1 1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
2/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
3/4 c. water
1 egg yolk, lightly beaten
1 (2 1/2-3lb.) fryer,cut up
vegetable oil or shortening
Directions:
Combine first 5 ingredients; stir well and set aside. Combine 2/3 c. flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, and 1/8 tsp. pepper; gradually stir in water and egg yolk. Dredge chicken in seasoned flour mixture; dip in egg mixture. Dredge chicken again in seasoned flour mixture, coating well. Pour oil to depth of 2" into a large heavy skillet; heat to 350 degrees. Fry chicken in hot oil over med. heat 10 to 12 minutes on each side or until chicken is done. Drain on paper towels.
