Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients:
3/4 c. soft shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. oats (uncooked)

Directions:
Beat shortening, sugars, egg, water, and vanilla until creamy.Sift together flour, salt, and soda. Add the creamed mixture. Blend well. Stir in oats. Drop by teaspoonful on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 12 to 15 min.
(Add nuts, raisins chocolate chips or coconut if desired.)
