Strawberry Squares
Ingredients:
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. butter, melted
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
2 c. sliced fresh strawberries or 10 oz. frozen
2 Tbs. lemon juice
1 c. sugar
2 egg whites
1 c. whipping cream

Directions:
Mix flour, brown sugar, walnuts and butter. Bake in shallow pan at 350 for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally. Sprinkle 2/3 crumbs in 13x9x2" pan. Combine egg whites, sugar,
berries and lemon juice. Beat at high speed 20 minutes. Fold in whipping cream and spoon over crumbs. Top with remaining crumbs. Freeze 6 hours ( if you use frozen berries, reduce sugar to 2/3 cup.
