Swiss Steak
Ingredients:
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 to 2 lbs beef round steak, trimmed
2 Tbs. vegetable oil
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped onion
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 c. water
1 garlic clove, minced
1 Tbs. steak sauce
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 to 2 lbs beef round steak, trimmed
2 Tbs. vegetable oil
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped onion
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 c. water
1 garlic clove, minced
1 Tbs. steak sauce
Directions:
Combine the flour, salt and pepper. Cut steak into serving size pieces; dredge in the flour mixture. In a skillet brown steak in oil. Drain and place in a 2 1/2 qt. casserole. Top with celery, onion and mushrooms. Combine water, garlic and steak sauce; pour over vegetables. Cover and bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
Makes 6 Servings
