Cabbage Casserole
Ingredients:
1 medium onion, chopped
2 Tbs. butter
1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. salt
Dash pepper
1 medium cabbage
2 c. grated American cheese
1 1/2 c. sour cream
1 c. buttered bread crumbs
1/4 c. wine (optional)

Directions:
Brown onion in the butter. Add ground beef and brown; season. Cut up cabbage into pieces about 1" square; add to the ground beef mixture. Cover and cook slowly until the cabbage turns translucent, about 10 minutes. Add cheese and sour cream; mix thoroughly. Put in greased casserole; top with buttered crumbs. Bake at 375 for about 45 minutes. May be reheated for second day servings.
