Fried Chicken
Ingredients:
1 fryer, cut up
2 c . self-rising flour
Salt and pepper to taste
Shortening for frying

Directions:
While preparing chicken, melt shortening in a deep, heavy frying pan. Chicken should be covered half way with shortening. Rinse chicken and leave damp. Combine flour, salt and pepper in a bag. Shake to mix. Drop chicken in a few pieces at a time. Shake to coat. When shortening is hot, carefully place chicken in pan. Cover and cook on medium. Brown on both sides (10-15 Minutes per side). Remove and drain on paper towels.
