Hot Lettuce

Ingredients:

1 medium head lettuce, cut up and set aside
1 lb. bacon, fried and drained

Directions:

To the bacon add 5 to 6 cups water, 3/4 c. vinegar, 3/4 c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt and a dash of pepper. Bring to a boil. In a separate bowl mix 1 c. flour, 1 egg, with water until it is of consistency to make gravy. Add to boiling mix and stir until thickened. Pour over lettuce and stir until lettuce is covered. You may need to taste and adjust ingredients.
