Peanut Blossoms
Ingredients:
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 egg
2 Tbs. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
48 candy kisses

Directions:
In large bowl, combine all ingredients except kisses. Blend well. Shape into balls using about 1 tsp. dough. Rollballs in additional sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven. Top each cookie immediately with a kiss, pressing down firmly so cookie cracks around the edge. Makes about 48 cookies.
