Dip meat in milk; then in bread crumbs; then in beaten egg; then in bread crumbs. Brown on both sides in hot oil. Remove meat from pan. Add onions. Place meat on top of onions. Add water and simmer for about two hours or more. Add more water as needed. Salt to taste. Remove meat to serving platter and thicken onions if desired.
The meat will be so tender and juicy that you will be able to cut the meat with a fork. This is excellent served with mashed potatoes and a vegetable.
