Black Walnut Taffy
Ingredients:
Black walnuts
2 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. water
1 c. white Karo syrup
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 Tbs. butter
1 Tbs. vanilla
Black walnuts
2 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. water
1 c. white Karo syrup
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar

1 Tbs. vanilla
Directions:
Grease a 9x13x2" pan. Put black walnuts on bottom of pan. Mix all other ingredients together. Bring to a boil over medium high heat, stirring constantly. Lower heat and continue cooking until small amount of taffy dropped in cold water is brittle. Pour into pan, over black walnuts and let stand. Do not refrigerate. When taffy is hard, turn pan upside down on waxed paper. Break into small pieces with knife handle.
