Shellbark Taffy
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c.water
1/3 c. cider vinegar
3 Tbs. molasses
1/2 c. shellbarks or your favorite nut

Directions:
Combine the sugar, water, vinegar and molasses in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil to the hard-crack stage (taffy goes hard when dropped in cold water), or 300 degrees on a candy thermometer.
Put the nuts in a buttered 9" square cake pan, almost covering the bottom, and pour the taffy over them. Cool to room temperature and mark in squares.
