Hot Milk Sponge Cake

2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk, scalded
2 Tbs. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Beat eggs till light and fluffy. Add sugar and beat again. Add flour, salt, and baking powder, which have been sifted together. Add scalded milk, add butter and vanilla. Put in greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
